Learn by doing, not playing
The practice should be the real activity from the first session. Gamifying an educational app solves the engagement problem but creates a bigger one: what you get good at is the game. You learn to pick the right tile out of four and to keep the streak alive, and none of it survives contact with the thing you actually wanted to do.
Repeat until it sticks
Nobody learns anything durable in one sitting. The part that feels like drudgery — returning to the same material until it stops requiring thought — is not the price of learning. It is the learning. We would rather build that in honestly than disguise it as something more entertaining.

The tools here exist because we wanted them for ourselves. The best products come from passion, not from business. So we are our own first users: we use them daily, on the subjects we actually care about.
